Earning Top Safety Pick recognition isn't easy. It requires the highest score of "Good" for all crashworthiness assessments and available "Good" or "Acceptable" headlights. It also requires "Advanced" or "Superior" ratings for forward collision mitigation technology in both daytime and nighttime vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. The additional "plus" (+) rating is reserved for vehicles with "Good" or "Acceptable" headlights as standard equipment.
